Lori:
You spoke and sang at the Livonia Rotary Club yesterday. I read your book and was inspired by both your talk and singing. I serve on the Livonia Community Prayer Breakfast Committee and I'd like to be able to contact you as a possible speaker in the future. I don't have your email address, so this is the only way I know to communicate with you, other than by phone. Could you please respond? Thanks

Another reason to celebrate

Earlier this week a Russian born student came into my work area. I noticed her accent and asked where she was from. Russia. We continued about what part she came from. I shared where another student I'd met came from. She blurted out - Oh, you are talking about Nick. I asked if she knew him. She did not, but some day she hoped she could meet him.
We have another Russian born success story at Job Corps. However, her allegiance is totally to the U.S. now. She does not look back to the people of the country where she was born.
The Russian students, who still have some kind of tie to Russia, are relating to Nick's story. Why he ended up in an orphanage, what life was like there, his adoption that brought him to the U.S. and his transformation to this point.
Students from different cultures appear to need someone from their own culture as an example to follow.
Thank you for listening to the spirit and adopting him. I have seen for some time he has a life-long mission that God sent him to do that he is rising to meet. He needed you to get him to this country. The young lady I talked with stated children are usually not adopted once they turn 12. You have truly been an "instrument" in God's hands.

I'm sorry you were not able to visit Clearfield Job Corps. Their homepage:
http://clearfield.jobcorps.gov/

The campus tour is at:
http://clearfield.jobcorps.gov/Campustour/campusmap2.htm

When Nick first arrived, his dorm would have been in building #11. When the new dorms opened up, he would have been in the new dorms - #6

His trade is housed in building #12.

The counseling and transition offices are in building #10. The free time computer lab was also in that building. It is now in the west side of building #9.

Nick took advantage of the Recreation Center in building #14

I had the privilege of being a witness of the transformation of the "success story" he is today. This created a "payday" that has nothing to do with a paycheck.
