February family news

Whew, February is almost over already...it's flown by for me. Today was a typical February day:
This morning, I got up early and had some coffee in peace before the kids woke up. JJ and I chit chatted at the kitchen table for a little bit. She had to work last night and this morning. I left for school...I'm taking a fitness instructor course this month....very cool...more on that later.
While I was gone, the kids did the usual Saturday chores, although Irene had to be the one to crack the whip on turning off Saturday cartoons to get them off the couch. (She and Jeanette are good fill ins for me if I'm not there as they have mastered my semi-yelling technique)
Emmalee's team had volleyball tournament games today. The whole family went to support them. They won all three and will now go to the championships tomorrow against St Mary's. After tomorrow, whoo hoo....sports are DONE......well, at least until the first week in March when baseball starts....at least there will only be two boys playing on two different teams....that's nothing compared to what it has been all year.
No time for me to cook today because I went straight to volleyball from school, so we had pizza...I always get the $5 deal...4 larges, so there is enough for lunch tomorrow, which saves me more cooking....
Irene left for work after Jeanette got home so she'll be home late tonight. Dan spent the night with his cousin Evan last night and will be staying longer than expected. They are probably still glued to the x-box as I write this.. Mitch, Kevin and Craig played in the barn this afternoon while Dennis chipped away at the frozen horse manure in the stalls and the paddock.
Jeff left to church tonight for a euchre tournament with the athletic club. He'll stop at home, then will go to the hospital for the night shift.
I plan on playing a little guitar tonight, and straightening up my work area...it's a mess. Jeanette and I will watch a chick flick tonight and eat some good guacamole that I just made. The other kids are watching "Flushed Away".
I'm looking forward to just relaxing tonight....it's nice that I have the night off.
Tomorrow, I have to sing at mass, it's my turn to cantor this week. Then,I'm performing at Wayne State University for a History of Jazz review with a jazz vocal quartet. It should be fun....we've been practicing all week and I'm looking forward to the performance.
My brother Mike will be returning our shared dog, Zues tomorrow. Zues is a white sheperd that is very old and getting weaker by the day. Mike wanted to hang with him a little bit. I hope he fed him a steak...that dog has been the best...Our other dog, Sadie seems lost without him.
Next week, the kids are off school for winter break....I'm sure there will be more to report. Until then, that's the latest with us. It really hasn't been that busy of a day for us compared to others...just typical February stuff.
When I get a chance, I'll report on all my own stuff soon....L
